My Process for Work Style and Closet Apps
My plan of assembling work outfits over the weekends has been a lifesaver. One less decision to make as I fly around in the morning has led to a more relaxed day. It’s also affected the way I carry myself and the way others treat me, especially when I run to the store after work. First impressions do count.
I wanted to organize my looks in some digital easy to use way so I started looking into the available closet style apps. What I really wanted is an app where you can upload a pic of the completed outfit and assign it to a monthly calendar. The ones I could find only allowed you to upload each piece where you then put together the clothing on the app itself they also required a lot of background cutting. This didn’t work for me because I’ve learned that while I may assemble an outfit and think it works as I actually put it on the cut of the clothes on my body shape and the textures break the look. Its easier for me to see the ensemble on myself. Back to the software when I tried uploading my full body pic, the app’s compressed the picture so much I couldn’t make out any detail. After some brainstorming I downloaded the “File Manager” app from the Play Store (I have an android phone) which allows you to create your own picture album folders. I then created two new folders named them “Closet” and “Closet Laundry”. I placed all my snapped outfits into the closet album and each day as I use the look I move the outfit pic to the closet laundry album. This will help make sure I don’t wear the same look too many days in a row.
